WebQuest Animal Habitat internet addresses:
http://192.107.108.56/portfolios/q/quinn_j/WebquestFinal/introduction.htm
This is the webquest for those who tested out of the science test.
For this webquest, you will find out about different animals and the habitats they live in. You will have to investigate the animals from the point of view of a zoologist, a naturalist, a dietician, and a socialogist. With information from these different points of view, you will develop a habitat for each animal in a habitat zoo. Your information and design will be presented to the class.
Here are some additional links for the webquest described above.

It is fun to learn about animals. For this project, you will be learning about different habitats (places) in which animals live. You will work with another student and after learning about animals you and your partner will make a poster showing a habitat with at least two animals, two birds, and two reptiles and the foods and shelter that they need to live there. |

Introduction
You have been contacted by the local zoo to create a habitat for the new animal they will be getting. You need to research what things the animal will need and be ready to share your findings to the Zoo's Board of Directors.
Task
You and your partner will need to:
• choose an animal
• use the sites and resources listed in the Resources section to find your information
• make a page for our class book on animal habitats
• create a diorama of your animal in its habitat to share with the Board of Directors (class).

Introduction
A biodome is being built in the area and the designers want to start off with the animals before deciding what habitats to include. They are asking each of you to choose an animal to put in the biodome. You will need to research the animal and the habitat that it lives in and present your findings to the designers.

Introduction
You've been asked by the California Nature Conservancy to help research the natural habitats of animals living in California! The Conservancy tries to preserve land so that these animals can continue to thrive. In order to do this, they must know a lot about the various environments and how the animals adapt to their surroundings. They're hoping that you can help them pull together the necessary information that will educate new members of the Conservancy.
Task
You and your team will research habitats found in California and will take an in-depth look at several animals from each habitat to identify their particular adaptations. Once you have become habitat experts, you will create your own animal. As a team you will be able to describe it's features and how these features would help the animal to survive in its habitat. Each team must be able to present their animal as an educational presentation to a group from the Nature Conservancy. As a class, the various animals will give the audience a feel for different adaptations and environments that exist in California.

You are an explorer on safari in South Carolina. What kinds of animals are you likely to see and what types of habitats will you find them in? On your safari you will learn that some of these animals are endangered. While you explore find out what you can do to preserve these animals and their habitats. Have fun exploring South Carolina!
The Task
On your safari you will work with a partner to research an animal of your choice that can be found in South Carolina and record your results. Then you will work with another set of partners to compare and contrast the animals you have studied. You will present your findings to the class as an oral or written report that will include either a model of your animal's ideal habitat or a plan for preservation if the animal is endangered.
